"In Service" has held steady at #2 in the Romance Category for the last few days and is # 6 in the Thriller category. It needs just a little more push to break into the top spot and stay there until the polls close ont he 14th.

Rysykk's Rise had risen to the #2 spot, is now back down to the #3 spot the Sci-Fi category.

While, I am personally, I'm #8 on the Author's Category.

So, if you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes, if you haven't already, please follow the instructions below.

Remember that you can vote one time in each category per email address. This means that if you have 5 email addresses, you can vote from all five in each category!

I Need Your Votes!!!!

I received a phone call tonight from [info]rhiannon_rhodes to let me know that Dark Roast Press and some of our authors and books have been nominated for the "Preditors & Editors
Readers' Poll" Awards.

The catch is, it's one of those voting Polls, where the people who read vote for their favorite books and authors.

So I turn to all of you!

See, my ebook "Rysykk's Rise" was nominate for Best Science Fiction. If you read "Rysykk's Rise" and loved it, liked it, or maybe if you just like me...I could use your vote!

The page that lists all of the voting categories and links is: http://critters.org/predpoll/

Click on the Science Fiction & Fantasy Novels link. You can vote once per email address per category.

You can also post write in votes if you think that's necessary. You know...say...for "In Service"? or something? *hint* *hint*

Apparently someone took me seriously, because "In Service" is now listed under the Romance Novel category. Voting procedure is otherwise the same.

And I noticed someone included me under the author category as well!

There are a lot of categories and a lot of books and ebooks included. It could mean a lot of new readers if we place well, not just for me, but for all the other fabulous writers at Dark Roast Press (look for them in all of the categories).

The voting runs through January 14th. I appreciate all the love and support from all of my readers!

An Update!

JC
It's been a month since the release of Rysykk's Rise on Dark Roast Press, and in that time I'm told some 33 copies have been sold (give or take in the few days since I asked).

It hasn't gotten any formal reviews yet, but reader reviews have been positive (thanks you two!). If you bought the book, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. If you enjoyed it, I would ask you to consider reviewing the book, either in your own journal or on the Dark Roast site. Good reviews sell more books, you know? Also? It increases the number of hits the book title gets on the search engines.

Oh, and I'm now on Facebook too: J.C. Natál's Facebook profile

And in other book news, I have sent In Service in to the editor....we'll see how much more work needs to be done before it's ready.

And in still other book news, I've started working on the sequel to Rysykk's Rise. With any luck it won't take me as long as the first one did.

That's all the news that's fit to print here in my world!

Pimping the Book

Now that the blush of the initial rush of release is fading, it's time to start pushing the baby out of the nest (talk about a mixed metaphor!)...

I will be working on finding ways and places this weekend.

Also of note, I'll be updating my profiles around the net.

You can find me so far here and on Yahoo 360. I'm avoiding MySpace like the plague, but I'm open to suggestions. Where would you pimp me out?

Yes, I'm a feedback whore...but ya'll knew that right?

So here is a post just to collect any comments you'd like to leave, or to talk about the book and stuff.

I'd be much obliged, if you enjoyed the book, if you'd leave a review at the website as well. Because it helps me sell more books!

And no, it isn't the one you're looking for.

Due to...circumstances beyond my control, and probably beyond the control of folks a lot more in control than me, Aphrodites Apples has closed its doors.

Which means the postponement of the release of "Rysykk's Rise".

However, I have high hopes that a month or so from now, you'll be able to buy it from a new e-publisher.

So...stay tuned.

This is exciting. My first e-book release is right around the corner.

Cut for image of book cover and blurb )

The release date is the 14th of February (or possibly the 19th, there have been communication issues). The book is being published by Aprodites Apples, though it isn't listed yet. They seem to not have a "Coming Soon" Section.

More to come!
